My drawers and my ex husband
My ex husband Matt and I have been divorced around ten years. My husband Brad and I have been together for seven years and married for almost five years. My son Will travels back and forth between houses. Sometimes William will pack a bag of clothes and sometimes he won’t because he has clothes at his dad’s house. There have been several times where clothes of Will’s younger brothers will accidentally come back to our house. Many times I have done laundry and pulled out a little boy shirt and knew it did not belong to us. I then have to remind Will to bring it back to his dad’s house because one thing we don’t need is more stuff at our house.
Imagine my surprise when I was pregnant with my third child (Charlotte) and I received a text from my ex husband with a picture of my drawers asking if they were mine. Of course they had been strategically placed in the picture where the inside could obviously be seen.
I wanted to die. I would like to say that they were in perfect condition (inside and out) but there were a few light stains on them. When you are a female sometimes things happen and life happens.
I would like to say that the drawers looked like this:
But at the moment I received this text, it felt like my drawers looked like this :
In reality, this picture below is a better representation of what the drawers looked like.
I immediately ran into the living room and showed my husband the text. We both starting laughing our tails off. Brad then proceeded to tell a few underwear jokes dealing with stained drawers. We laughed some more.
This is what I love about my husband Brad. He is the sweetest husband ever. He has my back at all times. We were laughing so hard for a while about the drawers. Then the embarrassment set in on what happened. He switched gears and said everything he could to make me not feel embarrassed. He made me feel so good about myself (which is hard when you are pregnant). After the embaresent part wore off, we started laughing all over again.
The next time Will was at his dad’s house, my ex made sure that my super sexy drawers got returned in one piece.
My question for you is this: Would you just have denied that the drawers were yours?
