Peer Pressure, It Works!!! Week 6 Update!
We are only 57 days away from the finish line of our weight loss challenge! 8 of us have stuck it out and are trying to lose a combined 169 pounds.
How did we do this week?
Overall we are down a combined 5.8 pounds from last week. We are down a combined 37.6 pounds! The ranges from total weight loss over 6 weeks go from down 2 pounds to down 11.2 pounds! Our meal planner (Alyssa) has lost a very impressive 11.2 pounds!!!!

Peer Pressure Works!
The 8 of us all agree that if we did not have others cheering us on and if we did not report to each other on a weekly basis, we would be much less likely to exercise more and eat better. We find ourselves taking that extra walk even when we don’t feel like it because the others in the group would probably do the same!
The Scale May Not Show It, But Our Clothes Do!
Many of us feel as though the pounds aren’t coming off fast enough. Just when we want to complain, we go to our closet and try on a piece of clothing that hasn’t fit in a long time. Lo and behold, the item fits! We are building muscle!!! According to love strong.com, muscle burns calories three times faster than fat!
The Harder It Is To Lose, The Harder It Will Be To Put Back On!
We are losing weight the right WAY!
We Need To Schedule Our Workouts!
We are all busy and if we don’t schedule our workouts, then something will come up! I missed out on many workouts because of my car breaking down, freezer meal exchange, Easter egg hunt playdate, etc. Next week we are putting them on our calendar!
What We Eat Is Still VERY Important!
You can take 20,000 steps a day, but you must watch what you eat and drink to see results!
Fitbits Are Awesome
Seven out of the eight of us had Fitbits. We are obsessed with tracking our steps. Our one holdout finally relented and I am happy to report 100% of us are now obsessed with our Fitbits! Seeing other people’s steps makes you want to do more!
We Have Started Building Positive Habits!
We wake up and the first thing we do is put on our workout clothes. We make sure to get some type of exercise in for the day. We feel guilty if we can’t make it to the gym.
If you are reading this and are thinking, “I really want to lose a few pounds before the summer, but don’t know where to start”. We highly encourage you to GO FOR IT!!!! Ask a friend, co-worker, spouse to do it with you! We are half way into our challenge and after 6 weeks, we all agree this is the best thing we could have done. We aren’t living in diet caves, not enjoying life. Instead, we are making better choices when we can!
